Hi, I'm having a hard time trying to understand this statement. Is this saying that CSM of RI held cannot be recognized after LC of underlying contract is recognized? How does this make sense?

Basically, it is just saying you cannot have a loss recovery component if you purchase reinsurance for an onerous group of contracts that are already recognized as onerous. You need to buy reinsurance before your group of contracts are recognized as onerous
